FAQ
PIRANHA® HardFace is a surface-integrated, rigid multispectral signature management layer for mobile platforms across land, sea and air domains. It reduces the detectability and identifiability of assets while improving durability, usability and operational service life.
PIRANHA® HardFace reduces the platform's signature across several parts of the spectrum at once: a patented radar-absorbing structure lowers radar cross-section, thermal insulation evens out heat, and an Infra-Red Reflective (IRR) paint-based outer layer manages the visible and infrared signature.
Yes. PIRANHA® HardFace can be repainted and repaired by the end-user, which supports long service life and in-service maintenance.
It is made by Lainisalo Oy, an experienced European manufacturer, offering R&D, integration, verification and full life-cycle services. Contact sales@lainisalo.fi
It is designed for mobile platforms across land, sea and air domains, and can be applied to solid surfaces with varied geometries.
PIRANHA® SoftFace is a lightweight, flexible radar signature management interlayer made by Lainisalo Oy. It is designed to be integrated into camouflage textiles, covers, nets, shelters and modular field systems, where it absorbs radar waves and lowers the radar cross-section of the protected object.
PIRANHA® Stealth technology reduces how strongly an object reflects radar energy. The patented radar-absorbing structure attenuates incoming radar waves across a wide frequency range instead of bouncing them back to the sensor, which makes the protected system harder to detect, classify and track.
Typical PIRANHA® SoftFace applications are camouflage textiles and nets, covers and shelters, and deployable multispectral systems. It is intended for military applications where radar signature has to be managed in the field.
Yes. Because the interlayer is thin, light and flexible, it can be integrated into camouflage garments.
Yes. Radar absorption can be combined with the optional thermal layer.
Yes — after a non-disclosure agreement has been signed. Given the nature of our products, detailed technical documentation is released only to verified customers under NDA. Once the NDA is in place, we share the documentation relevant to your platforms and intended use.
